MLKJ Day

I'd just like to say: "Hi. My name...doesn't matter, and I am a human, female by sex and androgynus by mentality. And I am typing here to tell you that THERE IS ONLY ONE RACE. You sick bastard, I don't mean white. I mean human. Scientifically, we are all the same. Exact. Things. We have hair, toenails, pubes, you name it, everyone has it. Every single human has an ancestor, no matter how far back, that was what we would consider "black", a.k.a. a higher amount of melanin in the skin. It doesn't matter if you are from Norway, China or Haiti, all humanity traces back to Africa, where the climate and environment made for a person who needed more melanin to protect from the sun's ridiculously gnarly rays. So...when we make one race special, whether it be the KKK or BET, it's pointless superiority. Blacks want to be included in the daily TV airtime, no big deal...so they get their own channel, which is generally watched only by their key demographic i.e. other African Americans. These shows often reinforce negative or untrue stereotypes about blacks, which may reinforce them on non-stereotypical blacks or generally project an image of what an African American should be and apparently are. And it's treated like there are ONLY whites on other channels, when honestly there's a really nice mix out there, fuck, the cast of Grey's Anatomy is enough to see. And Ugly Betty has a cool, hip, modern Latina edge. Minorities don't need their own channel, that's like media segregation, except that it's self-segregated! How ridiculous is it that the media can convince African Americans to segregate themselves from the rest of TV, or at least try to. C'mon, isn't that what MLK fought against? But, in the end, all YOU need to know is that there's one race and we are all the same, fighting for survival in the big bad world. Take that one to heart."
