Train Kept A Rollin' (Aerosmith)- Great classic rock, super-hot riffs and sexy wails from the Toxic Twins themselves. Need I say more?
Nights In White Satin (Moody Blues)- Such an oldie. The title sounds sort of disco-y (although if it was disco it'd probably be Nights in White Polyester) but this sweet song is entrancing without being cheesy and romantic without being pathetic. It has a soft As Tears Go By feel and can turn an evening's glass of wine into a sob session.
Dimestore Diamond (Gossip)- Ditto and the gang are back with more gut-wrenching, dirty rock and Dimestore Diamond is the stand-out track from Music For Men. It's sleazy, it's southern, it'll have you singing and stomping and screaming.
Heavy Cross (Gossip)- Usually I don't include artist doubles on my playlists but this song is fucking epic, to put it bluntly. The lyrics cut your throat (since unlike other singers Beth Ditto can actually pronounce her lyrics) and the riffs are simple, clean and fucking powerful.
Ich Clack Dich (LeLe)- Lele has a distinctly disco/eurohouse feel in all his tracks but Ich Clack Dich is straight-up cool. The song was made for photography geeks with name-checks such as Terry Richardson and Juergen Teller. The video is spectacular as well.
Come Into My Kitchen (Mick Jagger)- You're probably like, huh? Jagger covered this song in the movie Performance and a clip of it is available on YouTube. It's Mick in all of his blues, sitting in a corner hammering out some chords. Its slow tempo sends you back to the southern heat punctuated by a class of cold wiskey sour. I don't know if it is available for download, however.
