Your eyes tell a story
Of love and of pain
Of knowing, if one looked close enough
Only I discover what lies in wait.
In stillness, in pondering
I gaze endlessly
Into you
Until you stir, turn away
And I am lost in my thoughts.
The love that swells inside
Bursts through those chasms
Into mine
Crossing thought and intellect
And energy and time.
Hunger for you
Replaces my need
For any material thing
My heart aches for those eyes
To feed me deep inside.
Darkness pours around me
When you are not beside
You are the palette
From which I paint
The warmth inside my soul.
The eyes that hold me
The eyes that feed me
The eyes that hold me close
Are accompanied by such a strength
That I fall into you.
